need help with slime!!!
tank is a 55 gal with 30 gal sump/fuge, 4 fish in it are 2 clowns,1 blue tang, and a royal grama. temp is always 80 i use a skimmer,3 powerheads, filter sock, and have a 4-54watt t5 setup on timers.. blues come on at 10:30 am then daylights come on at 11:00am then daylights go off at 9:30pm and blues go out at 10:00pm.. i keep getting this slime build up on the sand, but it is only on the left side of the tank, and never in the fuge. any idea why its doing this??

I had an outbreak about a year ago, so I feel your pain! I used a turkey baster to loosen the algae, then used a fish net to remove the pieces. After it was out of the tank, I adjusted a powerhead to hit the infected area better. I haven't had a problem since. Other than the slime, your tank looks awesome!

Re: need help with slime!!!
I had the same issue in my 55. I would vuccuum it out with every water change. Kempo is right with the flow. I believe that stuff stems from not enough flow in a certain area alowing nutrients to gather for the diatoms (?) to feed on. Play with your powerheads to get more flow in that area. I have also found that a lot of small hermits do a pretty good job of keeping the sandbed cleaner.
Looking good. Xenia seems very happy.
