Hey Bigford welcome to the hobby, the frags you get will most likely be glued onto a frag plug which you can just place on a rock with a rubber band or if possible you can remove the frag (carefully) from the plug and reglue, using marine frag glue to any surface of your live rock. Very Happy

Corals like being on the rocks, I understand that hard corals are limestone, they will encrust onto the rock & become one with your reef/pile of rocks. For some reason in my tank the corals that lay on the sand do not do well so I prop them up on pvc or cut off tops to coke bottles.
